ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Work with 13-21 year old participants as a Peer Recovery Leader by providing direct support recovery services.
  2. Draw from lived experience to build rapport and help participants create, facilitate, and maintain goals.
  3. Embrace and work from a collaborative, multiple paths to recovery framework.
  4. Determine participant goals and assist participant to reach short and long term goals.
  5. Keep detailed and organized documentation of individual sessions, groups and community meetings/partnerships.
  6. Submit monthly and quarterly reports in a timely manner with accurate numbers of participants involved in YRC.
  7. Create a wellness plan which will be updated regularly.
  8. Attend all mandatory Cenikor Trainings and Cenikor and YRC Team meetings.
  9. Work with the Cenikor Marketing Coordinator to create flyers, memes, and brochures as needed for the YRC Program.
  10. Connect participants and make referrals to community resources. Assist in the process of contacting resources, scheduling appointments, arranging transportation etc. for the participants and their families.
  11. Assist in the process of skill building such as contacting resources, scheduling appointments, arranging transportation etc. for the participants.
  12. Work closely with the Family Coordinator to engage the whole family in the recovery process.
  13. Establish linkages with community-based organization, recovery support organizations, substance use disorder treatment providers, and other sources of support within the community to assist in sustaining individual's recovery. Reach out and follow up with at least three community partners per month with the goal of expanding the scope of the YRC.
  14. Conduct recovery support groups with participants that are designed to provide participant with positive emotional support to assist dealing with daily and personal life issues.
  15. Conduct structured activities based on the needs of the participants.
  16. Assist in the development and implementation of recovery community service projects. Participant in recovery their family members and supportive allies are engaged in, planning and completing service projects.
  17. Plan fun and sober social events to support participants in recovery.
  18. Schedule and conduct presentations of Youth Recovery Community (YRC) services to gain community buy-in and support.
  19. Be available to help and cross train other Team Members to facilitate all YRC Groups.
  20. Provide outreach and engagement strategies to increase participation in and provide access to recovery support services for diverse populations.
  21. Perform additional duties as assigned and consistent with the exempt functions as assigned in this job description.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to be flexible while remaining highly organized.
  • Ability to work within a team setting, as well as independently.
  • Ability to plan in advance and implement those plans with fidelity.
  • Possess good time management skills needed to meet aggressive deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office, with above average skills in MS PowerPoint and Outlook Calendar.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience:

  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Experience working with youth and/ or young adults.
  • Group and individual session facilitation experience.
  • Experience with addiction recovery, including multiple pathways to recovery and peer recovery support services.

License:

  • Peer Recovery Support Specialist Certification preferred
  • Valid Driver's License required
