Cenikor Foundation is a non-profit organization and one of the largest substance use treatment centers in the nation. We are currently seeking a Part Time Grant Coordinator for our corporate office in Houston, TX.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Grant Coordinator is responsible for the preparation of proposals and grant applications, and performance of professional and administrative work in researching, identifying, developing and responding to public and private grant opportunities. Coordinates grant opportunities across all facilities under the direction of the Advancement Executive.

SCHEDULE

Monday-Thursday 9-4pm

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Responsible for conducting the full range of activities required to prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals to foundation, corporate and private funding sources.
  2. Document the grant deadlines for consistent communication regarding funding opportunities across all locations and update as needed.
  3. Coordinate grant completion with Advancement Manager or other designated facility or corporate contacts.
  4. Perform prospect research on foundations and corporations to evaluate prospects for grants.
  5. Work with accounting department to gather information necessary to report to funders of current or prospective grant programs.
  6. Communicate and comply with all grant reporting as required.
  7. In collaboration with the Advancement Manager, create and maintain comprehensive donor files and maintain the centralized donor database.
  8. Assist with quarterly or annual reports as required by governmental granting agencies.
  9. Assist with other fundraising projects as requested.
  10. Clearly articulate the mission, vision and goals of Cenikor Foundation.
  11. Ensure completion of Big 5 performance management tool by the required deadline and use of SMART goals to support annual performance compensation review.
  12. Uphold the core principles of Cenikor's culture to help create a positive working environment for all team members.
  13. Maintain strict confidentiality on all client and foundation matters and refer questionable issues to your supervisor.
  14. Perform additional duties as assigned and consistent with the non-exempt functions as defined in this job description.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of fundraising information sources.
  • Experience with proposal writing and institutional donors, strongly preferred.
  • Strong written communication skills; ability to write clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive proposals.
  • Strong editing skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines while managing competing priorities.
  • Knowledge of basic fundraising techniques and strategies.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with research techniques for fundraising prospect research.

Education:

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum one year grant research and writing required
  • Experience with substance abuse, health care or education is preferred

Licensure Required:

Valid Driver's License
