Schedule:  Monday - Friday 8am-5pm -occasional weekend availability 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Act as a peer mentor and role model for Recovery Support Specialists by demonstrating best practices in engagement, documentation, and recovery-oriented care.
2. Work with Aftercare Manager to provide on-the-job coaching and guidance to RSS staff, including support with group facilitation, participant interactions, and community engagement.
3. Assist with onboarding and training of new RSS staff, including shadowing, orientation support, and reinforcement of policies and procedures, as needed.
4. Facilitate groups in which participants help each other face challenges such as stigmatization, discrimination and misunderstanding in the community and with family members, identify personal strengths, interest, social relationships, hope for the future, and sources of well-being, as well as learn new knowledge and skills that can support their recovery journey combined.
5. Assist participants to learn how to find community opportunities, resources, and destinations that match their own interest and hopes for the future.
6. Assist participants to become more comfortable with self-advocacy.
7. Conduct Individual Interviews with participants to assist them in identifying their needs, preferences and goals related to services and their personal Recovery.
8. Write notes that describe patient encounters and group experiences.
9. Serve as a role model who shares personal strengths and skills as well as the idea that hope for recovery is possible for everyone.
10. Provide recovery check-ups with individuals who have transitioned from the service setting into the community
11. Support individuals in developing comprehensive Recovery Wellness plans.
12. Support individuals in identifying, building, then strengthening their relationships with recovery allies.
13. Assist individuals in identifying their personal obstacles to recovery.
14. Participate in orientation, training, staff meetings, and supervision services.
15. Assertively connect participants to relevant community resources by periodically accompanying them so they may seek opportunities to build new relationships.
16. Assist people with identifying and connecting with the supports and services that will help them sustain their wellness and long-term recovery.
17. Strengthen existing community connections and building new ones that can help people move forward in their own recovery journey
18. Assist participants in identifying their own interests, gifts, skills, passions, life goals, as well as personal sources of resilience and hope for the future.
19. Maintain ongoing compliance with all required training courses relevant to the role, including but not limited to company-mandated courses and any state-regulated certifications or training requirements.
20. Ensure completion of Big 5 performance management tool for staff by the required deadlines and use of SMART goals to support annual performance compensation review.
21. Work closely with management team to uphold the core principles of Cenikor's culture and create a positive working environment for all team members.
22. Perform additional duties as assigned and consistent with the non-exempt functions as assigned in this job description.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

• Experienced in facilitating groups and providing information to groups.
• Experienced in working with diverse population.
• Excellent public speaker and customer service provider.
• Excellent time management skills to meet aggressive deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Effective communication and networking skills.
• Knowledge of local resources (medical, housing, employment)
• Ability to utilize approved mental/verbal de-escalation techniques to resolve mentally/verbally abusive situations.
• Ability to work flexible hours.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office software required, including MS Outlook calendar.

Education:

• High school diploma or GED required

Experience:

• Minimum one year related experience required working in group with individuals in recovery.

• Experience in prevention/substance use field preferred.

Essential Requirements:

1. Complete 46 hours of Recovery Coach Training.
2. Complete 25 hours of supervision, 500 hours work experience.
3. Take test with ICRC and send results of ICRC test, and application to TCBAP for Certification.

Physical Requirements:

• Standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time.
• Reaching by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction.
• Finger dexterity required to manipulate objects with fingers rather than with wholehand(s) or arm(s), for example, using a keyboard.
• Communication skills using the written and spoken word.
• Ability to see within normal parameters.
• Ability to hear within normal range.
• Possible exposure to communicable diseases.
• Participation in activities outside of the facility or traditional business hours is required.
• Travel required for out of town work related activities.

Licensure Required:

• Valid Driver's License
