ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Program Coordination and Oversight

  1. Coordinate and evaluate prevention programs to ensure quality, effectiveness, and alignment with HHSC contractual requirements and Cenikor's mission.
  2. Supervise Prevention Specialists, providing regular guidance, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities.
  3. Conduct supervision meetings with Prevention Team Members, supporting accountability and goal attainment.
  4. Serve as a key liaison between the Prevention Team and the Director of Prevention Programs to ensure clear communication, consistency, and efficient operations.
  5. Participate in the recruitment, onboarding, and training process for new Prevention Team Members.
  6. Assist with planning, organizing, and scheduling prevention activities to maximize impact and meet program deliverables.
  7. Monitor HHSC performance measures using internal and HHSC tools; compile and submit required reports on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  8. Coordinate and implement prevention services throughout the academic year and summer in collaboration with schools and community partners.
  9. Provide or facilitate educational presentations, classroom sessions, and group activities focused on substance use prevention, health, and wellness for youth in grades 1-12.
  10. Lead and participate in community mobilization efforts through coalitions, local health fairs, schools, and partner events.
  11. Represent Cenikor professionally at schools, community meetings, and events while cultivating and maintaining positive relationships with school administrators, educators, and partner organizations.
  12. Deliver prevention services directly when needed to ensure consistency and program continuity.
  13. Maintain program documentation and files in compliance with federal, state, and Cenikor standards.
  14. Ensure adherence to HHSC contract requirements, Cenikor policies, and all applicable regulatory guidelines.
  15. Track and analyze program outcomes and curriculum results to assess goal attainment and guide ongoing improvements.
  16. Oversee and complete Big 5 performance management documentation for Prevention Team Members, including weekly assistance needed updates, goal tracking, and priority alignment.
  17. Manage and request program supplies and materials to support effective prevention service delivery.
  18. Work under the direction of the Director of Prevention Programs to address and support employee relations matters within the Prevention Team, ensuring alignment with Cenikor policy and HR guidance.
  19. Maintain professional development and required training hours per agency and state regulations.
  20. Promote a collaborative, mission-driven, and positive work environment aligned with Cenikor's core values of integrity, service, and excellence.
  21. Support open communication, teamwork, and problem-solving across the Prevention Department.
  22. Collaborate with leadership to identify innovative approaches to prevention education and community engagement.
  23. Perform other duties as assigned consistent with the scope and purpose of this position.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of prevention education, youth engagement, and community outreach best practices.
  • Experience supervising or mentoring staff and managing program operations.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities to meet deadlines and balance multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, data tracking, and reporting systems.

Education:

- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Education, Public Health, Psychology, or related field required.

- Master's degree preferred.

Experience:

- Minimum two (2) years of experience in prevention, education, or community health programming required.

- Experience supervising staff or leading teams preferred.

- Experience working with youth, schools, or coalitions preferred.

- Experience in data management, reporting, or program coordination preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time.
Reaching by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction.
Finger dexterity required to manipulate objects with fingers rather than the whole hand or arm (e.g., using a keyboard).
Communication skills using both written and spoken word.
Ability to see and hear within normal parameters.
Possible exposure to communicable diseases.
Travel required in personal vehicle to presentation sites and community locations.

LICENSURE:

Certified Prevention Specialist certification required within 20 months of employment.
