Schedule: Monday -Friday 8am-5pm

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Ensure the recovery and support program is effectively administered and meets the needs of the community seeking to rebuild their lives.
  2. Supervise staff and identify training needs based for them and the facility.
  3. Must be available to travel to Cenikor facilities throughout the service areas to ensure proper engagement of RSS with clients, residents, and alumni.
  4. Facilitate groups in which participants help each other face challenges such as stigmatization, discrimination and misunderstanding at times including family members.
  5. Assist participants identify personal strengths, interest, social relationships, hope for the future and sources of well-being, as well as learn new knowledge and skills that support their recovery journey.
  6. Assist participants learn how to find community opportunities, resources and destinations that match their own interest and hopes for the future.
  7. Assist participants increase level of comfort with self-advocacy.
  8. Conduct individual interviews with participants to assist them in identifying their needs, preferences and goals related to services and their personal recovery.
  9. Write notes describing patient encounters and group experiences and service as a role model sharing personal strengths and skills and hope for recovery for everyone.
  10. Provide recovery check-ups with individuals who have transitioned from the service setting into the community.
  11. Support individuals in identifying, building, then strengthening their relationships with recovery allies, and assist individuals in identifying personal obstacles to recovery.
  12. Assertively connect participants to relevant community resources by periodically accompanying them so they may seek opportunities to build new relationships.
  13. Work internally with various departments and the Alumni Advisory Group, to identify and locate Cenikor alumni; develop and maintain alumni (and friends) database.
  14. Work closely with Senior Manager of Business Development to uphold the core principles of Cenikor's culture and create a positive working environment for all team members.
  15. Ensure completion of Big 5 performance management tool for RSS staff by the required deadlines and use of SMART goals to support annual performance compensation review.
  16. Provide initial training and orientation as well as on-going leadership and support to all members of the team to ensure that they have the tools necessary to carry out their job responsibilities.
  17. Ensure staff completes all required reports in a timely manner.
  18. Maintain strict confidentiality on all participants and foundation matters and refer questionable matters to the Senior Manager of Business Development.
  19. Intervene as necessary on issues relating to participants' complaints, concerns and operational issues.
  20. Perform additional duties as assigned and consistent with the exempt functions as defined in this job description.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Possess good organization, as well as oral and written communication skills.
  • Experienced and/or knowledgeable in facilitating groups for individuals in recovery.
  • Experienced and capable of identifying appropriate resources for participants recovery.
  • Ability to utilize approved mental/verbal de-escalation techniques to resolve mentally/verbally abusive situations.
  • Excellent listening and verbal communication skills, coupled with experience in working with diverse population.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team to successfully achieve goals.
  • Patience, perseverance, and resilience in a challenging environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel and Outlook.

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor's degree, or higher, in business, communications, or other applicable field of study preferred
  • Completed 46 hours Recovery Support Specialist Supervisor Training required.

Experience:

  • Minimum one year related experience facilitating groups in recovery.
  • Experience in recovery/substance abuse field preferred.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.

Licensure Required:

  • TCBAP certificate or be willing to successfully complete such certification within the first 3 months of Cenikor employment in this role.
  • Valid Driver's License

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting in normal position for extended periods of time.
  • Reaching by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction.
  • Finger dexterity required to manipulate objects with fingers rather than with wholehand(s) or arm(s), for example, using a keyboard.
  • Communication skills using the written and spoken word.
  • Ability to see within normal parameters.
  • Ability to hear within normal range.
