SCHEDULE: DAYS AND SHIFT TBD; DOES NOT EXCEED 28 HOURS A WEEK.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Engage and support family members through Youth Recovery Community (YRC) services.
  2. Provide families with education on substance use disorder and/or mental illness.
  3. Establish linkages with community-based organizations, recovery support organizations, substance use disorder treatment providers and other sources of support within the community to assist individuals in recovery through making referrals as needed.
  4. Conduct recovery support groups with participants and/or their families that are designed to provide families with positive emotional support to assist in dealing with their family member's substance use.
  5. Family coordinator will be responsible for keeping detailed and organized documentation of individual sessions, groups and community meetings/partnerships.
  6. Responsible for monthly/quarterly reports with accurate numbers of families involved in YRC.
  7. The Family Coordinator will create a wellness plan for each family and update as needed.
  8. Attend all mandatory Cenikor Trainings and Cenikor Team and YRC team meetings as requested.
  9. Work with Cenikor Marketing Coordinator to create flyers, memes, and brochures as needed for the YRC Program.
  10. Empowering participants to build on life skills by scheduling appointments, contacting resources, arranging transportation, etc.
  11. Maintain detailed and organized records of groups and individual sessions facilitated and include attendance and topics covered.
  12. Work closely with the YRC Peer Recovery Leaders to engage the entire family in the recovery process
  13. Conduct structured activities based on the needs of the participants/families.
  14. Assist in the development and implementation of recovery community service projects for participants in the YRC Program, their family members and supportive allies.
  15. Schedule and conduct presentations of Youth Recovery Community services to gain community buy-in and support.
  16. Be able to help other YRC Team Members. Team Members will be cross rained to facilitate all YRC groups.
  17. Perform additional duties as assigned and consistent with the exempt functions as defined in this job description.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrate passion for working with families.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to be flexible while remaining highly organized.
  • Ability to work within a team setting, as well as independently.
  • Ability to plan in advance and implement those plans with fidelity.
  • Possess good time management skills needed to meet aggressive deadlines and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office, with above average skills in MS PowerPoint and Outlook Calendar.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field of Social Work, Psychology or Child and Family Development required

EXPERIENCE:

  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Experience with family education on the disease model of addiction and recovery preferred
  • Experience working within the family unit preferred
  • Sharing lived experience with the goal of building rapport with participants and families preferred
  • Experience facilitating groups and individual sessions preferred
  • Experience with addiction recovery including multiple pathways to recovery and peer recovery support services preferred

LICENSE:

  • Peer Recovery Support Specialist Certification preferred
  • LCDC-i preferred
  • LCDC preferred
  • Valid Driver's License required
